Transcriptions - from spoken word to written text
For several years now, I have also offered the transcription of audio files, CD recordings, lectures, and interviews, as well as handwritten documents.
Of course, I will also gladly provide you with the subsequent translation of the transcribed texts. This saves time and money as you will receive all your documents from a single source and thus avoid having to go through every step twice (inquiry, quote, execution, etc.)
I offer the transcription of spoken texts according to the following three categories:
Simple transcription rules:
Spoken utterances such as "hmm," "nah," etc. are omitted. A slight smoothing is applied to the language, i.e., the resulting transcribed text appears in standard German/English.
Incomprehensible passages or words are marked with "?".
Individual formatting agreed upon prior to the transcription process is possible.
Pauses are always marked with "(...)".
Extended transcription rules:
Extended transcription rules include utterances such as "hmm," "nah," etc. Clearly audible utterances such as laughter or sighs are placed in parentheses without interpretative remarks: "(...)."
The transcription is carried out word-for-word; every spoken word is transcribed.
Individual formatting agreed upon prior to the transcription process is possible.
Pauses are always marked with "(...)".
Individual transcription rules:
Individual rules are developed together with the customer and implemented in the course of the transcription.
The prerequisite for a successful transcription (and subsequent translation) is the optimal quality of the original documents/audio files (mpg, wav, wma, mp3, mp4, etc.).
If your company is located in Europe, use the time difference to your advantage. My place of residence is 6 hours behind MET, so if you send me an audio file (of up to 1 hour) by 6 p.m. MET as an express order, I can have it back to you in the a.m.
I look forward to hearing from you and would be pleased to provide you with a customized and free quote based on your particular transcription and/or translation needs.
